La Petite Robe Noire Parfum (2025) by Guerlain was released in December, focusing on the tasty part of the scent. Judge for yourself: in addition to the sweet and healing berries (raspberry, red currant, blackberry and cherry), the composition is enhanced with chocolate cream. And not just any chocolate, but with hazelnuts. This gives the classic sugary-patchouli vibe of Angel Mugler a modern feel.

After setting the table and adding preserves (cherry compote, blueberry jam), we are served a dessert drink (amaretto). The company took into account the tastes of ladies of all ages. Along with a beautiful rose with scarlet petals, they offer a lollipop. Candy and lipstick. And a cherry pie from the boutique perfume Oud Nude (2022). It would be a bit over the top if not for the hay-like undertones of tonka bean, the licorice nuance of the original version, and the orris powder (paste?). Ultimately, the new version of the little black dress hits several popular notes at once: nuts, irises, and bright, juicy berries.

Познакомившись с изданным в прошлом году L’Homme Idéal Parfum by Guerlain, я почувствовала, что надо бы обновить впечатления и о парфюме другого бренда – Pink Boa (2022) by Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777. И именно в переключении от одного к другому становилось ясно, насколько оба этих аромата кокетливы. Pink Boa, конечно же, больше, – в нем есть раскованность и следование модным и спорным трендам (взять хотя бы запах лосося, к которому в духах, как мне кажется, готовы подступиться далеко не все). Pink Boa предлагает много оттенков розового, и при этом адресован все же взрослой аудитории обоих полов. Несмотря на актуальную ягодность (малина, затем – клюква), парфюм одновременно притягательный и страшный. Ни красивый абстрактный цветок в средних “нотах”, ни вкусный абрикосовый компот в базе не отменят его скрытого драконьего характера. Здесь – сочетание змеиной, плюс, какой-то даже птичьей – и привычной галантерейной кожи.

L’Homme Idéal Parfum скрывает ту же кожу. Не факт, что все три ее составляющие, либо же, взятые в той же пропорции. Но в целом, тут для меня – их общее место. А также, – в ягодном декоре. Герлен, правда, добавили хорошо проработанные брендом вишни и черешни. В-третьих, их роднит алкоголь. Ликер (а в Pink Boa – водка) и некая симпатичная прозрачность от бокала или рюмки, что балансирует в целом и сладкую ягодность, и ощутимые вкусные специи (здесь – кардамон).

Смело могу рекомендовать знакомство с ними обоими (хоть параллельно, а хоть и вне связи друг с другом), если вы готовы пуститься во все тяжкие хорошо отрежиссированного фильма.

P.S. Кроме отодвинутого на второй план, но все же ощутимого печенья из вышедшего в тот же период Habit Rouge Parfum в L’Homme Idéal Parfum есть еще интересная пропитка белым кремом. Этот крем вместе с вишневым кардамоном сопровождают раскрытие галантерейной кожи. И позже появится аромат сухого дерева. Настолько сухого, что правильнее, наверное, будет сказать, пенька.

Non-obvious connections

When I got acquainted with L’Homme Idéal Parfum by Guerlain released last year, I felt that I should compare it to another brand’s perfume – Pink Boa (2022) by Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777. In switching from one to the other it became clear how flirtatious both of these fragrances are. Pink Boa, of course, is more unique: it has a lot of relaxedness and follows fashionable and controversial trends (take at least the smell of salmon, to which, in my view, not all are ready in perfumes). It offers many shades of pink, and yet is addressed to an adult audience of both sexes. Despite the actual berry (raspberry, then cranberry), the perfume is simultaneously attractive and scary. Neither the beautiful abstract flower in the middle “notes” nor the delicious apricot compote in the base will cancel out its hidden dragon character. Here is a combination of snake, plus some even bird – and the usual haberdashery leather.

L’Homme Idéal Parfum hides the same “skin”. It is not a fact that all three of its components, or taken in the same proportion. But overall, for me, here is their common place. As well, I can see the intersections in the berry decor. Guerlain, however, added cherries and sweet cherries, well-developed by the brand. And thirdly, they are related by alcohol. Liqueur (and in Pink Boa – vodka) and some nice transparency from a glass or shot glass, which generally balances both the sweet berry and noticeable tasty spices (in this one – cardamom).

I can recommend meeting them both (in parallel, and even independently of each other), if you are ready to walk on the wild side.

P.S. In addition to the hidden but still noticeable biscuit note from Habit Rouge Parfum, released in the same period, there is also an interesting soaking with white cream in L’Homme Idéal Parfum. This cream, together with cherry cardamom, accompany the unfolding of haberdashery leather. And later, the scent of dry wood will appear. So dry that it would probably be more correct to say stump.

Мне наконец удалось понять, почему симпатия к I-Ristretto (2022) by Maison Tahité то появлялась, то исчезала. Этот парфюм – для / про полуночников. Когда еще не рассвело, темная канва аромата воспринимается органично и тревожности не добавляет. А теплый маслянистый аромат кофейных зерен, опять же, является сплошным плюсом. Заварите ли вы в этот момент кофе – или ограничитесь обонятельным удовольствием I-Ristretto – дело вкуса.

И вкус этого кофе от Maison Tahité приличный: с молочными и миндальными добавками. Насколько ярко он будет украшен желтыми ирисами, зависит от температуры кожи. Но цветы эти здесь, снова-таки, очень кстати. Подходят по настроению и по цвету, и о помаде для губ напоминают.

А позже парфюм наберет ванильности и корешков ветивера, что сделает напиток не так кофейным, как молочно-травяным. И где-то в глубине его вы сможете узнать фиалку. Вот такой округлый, в меру яркий и гурманский парфюм с вами и останется, подчеркнутый для пущей важности пачули. Это очень хорошо, когда осмыслено, и, кстати, очень даже про Герлен (автор аромата – Поль Герлен). С наступлением базы I-Ristretto вспоминается Shalimar Philtre de Parfum (2020) Тьерри Вассера.

Not instant coffee

I finally managed to understand why my liking for I-Ristretto (2022) by Maison Tahité was on and off. This perfume is for / about night owls. When it’s not yet dawn, the dark edge of the scent is perceived naturally and does not cause anxiety. And the warm, oily aroma of coffee beans is, again, a complete plus. Whether you make coffee at this moment – or limit yourself to the olfactory pleasure of I-Ristretto – is a matter of taste.

And the taste of this coffee from Maison Tahité is decent: with milk and almond additives. How brightly it will be decorated with yellow irises depends on the temperature of your skin. But these flowers are, again, the right option here. They match the mood and color, and remind you of lipstick.

And later the perfume will gain vanilla and vetiver roots, which will make the drink not so much coffee as milky-herbal. And somewhere in its depths you can recognize violet. This rounded, moderately colorful and gourmet perfume will stay with you, emphasized to a greater effect by patchouli. This is good when it is thought out, and, by the way, very much about Guerlain (the author of the fragrance is Paul Guerlain). With the onset of the I-Ristretto base, Shalimar Philtre de Parfum (2020) by Thierry Wasser comes to mind.

Or des Indes (1988) by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier и Habit Rouge Parfum (2024) by Guerlain. Несмотря на красный цвет картонок образцов, ароматы по ощущению не красные. А похожи они только тем, что оба – про странствия: в одном – рассказ о разбойниках и подготовке к путешествиям (запасаются печеньем, табаком и ромом), а в другом – о пребывании на дальнем острове и раскуривании ладана. Habit Rouge Parfum раскрывает современный вариант кожи, дегтя, дыма, специй и красивой не кондитерской ванили, и аромат печенья позже начинает здорово работать на плоскость “дальней земли”, горячего песка, над которым клубится пар, – примерно как в Oud Extrait (2018) by MFK, о котором писала ранее. Амбра же принимает участие в образах давно не принимавших душ странников и их видавших виды одежд. Тогда как Or des Indes показывает красивый закат, великолепные пейзажы в мягком свете и совершенно беспардонный, черноночной жасмин. Ладан в нем – и тот цветочный.

Оба парфюма, из 1988 и 2024 – актуальны и увлекательны.

In the islands

Or des Indes (1988) by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier and Habit Rouge Parfum (2024) by Guerlain. Despite the red color of the sample boxes, the fragrances have not been felt red. However, there is a common component in their compositions, and this is geranium. Surprisingly, but unconsciously, having turned to a fairly large and varied assortment of warming gourmands, I somehow chose these beauties one after another. And they are similar only in that both are about journeys: one is a story about robbers and preparation for travel (stocking up on cookies, tobacco and rum), another is about being on a distant island and burning incense. Habit Rouge Parfum reveals a modern version of leather, tar, smoke, spices and beautiful non-confectionery vanilla, and later the scent of cookies begins to create an image of the “distant land” and hot sand, over which steam is blowing – much like in Oud Extrait de Parfum (2018) by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, which I wrote about earlier. Ambergris takes part in the images of travelers who have not showered for a long time and their shabby clothes. While Or des Indes shows a beautiful sunset, magnificent landscapes in soft light and completely shameless, black-night jasmine. Incense in it is also floral friendly.

Both perfumes, from 1988 and 2024, are relevant and exciting.

Рука тянулась к полюбившемуся образцу с Oud Nude (2022) by Guerlain, однако внутренний голос сказал, что зелье это из бутиковой коллекции в большом объеме практически недоступно, поэтому, возможно, удовольствие стоит отложить, а пока поискать нечто приятное среди того, что есть во флаконах дома. И вот к чему поиск привел.

Приложившись к крышечке бутылки Shalimar Philtre de Parfum (2020) by Guerlain, я почуяла оочень гурманский миндаль – сладкий и молочный. А вдруг, именно этот аромат сможет заменить сегодня Oud Nude? И да, был получен интересный опыт: сахарный, светлый и даже с орешками сандал и пачули. Собственно шалимарная травная часть лишь присутствовала, не доминировала. А позже появились ваниль с мускусами и амбра в “шерсти”, – не животной, скорее, галантерейной. Страшный Шалимар воссоздали идейно, а не композиционно.

Было это не самой холодной осенью. А зимой Philtre de Parfum свое гурманство зажимает и становится строгим и даже безжалостным. Травы и бергамот берут свое, животина тоже выходит наружу сразу. И все попытки замены Oud Nude или просто наслаждения ванильной “няшкой” проваливаются. Можно носить и бояться – или ждать новой золотой осени. Но если повезет, и зимой, в заключительной главе своей, покажет Philtre корешковый ирис, помаду и румяна.

Its name is Philtre

There was a day when my soul was restless and I wanted to smell something delicious, but not just sweetness, any kind – it must be anything in particular, and yet not fully understood. My hand reached for the sample with Oud Nude (2022) by Guerlain, but an inner voice said that this potion from the boutique collection is practically unavailable in large quantities, so perhaps the pleasure should be postponed and for now I need to look for something pleasant among the things in the bottles at home. And this is what the search led to.

Approaching the cap of the bottle of Shalimar Philtre de Parfum (2020) by Guerlain, I smelled a very gourmet almond – sweet and milky. What if this fragrance can replace Oud Nude today? And yes, an interesting experience was obtained: sugary, light and even nutty sandalwood and patchouli. Actually, the herbal part of Shalimar was only present, it did not dominate. And later vanilla with musks and amber in “wool” appeared – not animal, rather haberdashery. The “terrible” Shalimar was recreated ideologically, not compositionally.

It was not the coldest autumn. In winter, Philtre de Parfum is moderate in gourmet pleasures and becomes strict and even merciless. Herbs and bergamot take their own, the animal also comes out immediately. And all attempts to replace Oud Nude or simply enjoy the “cute” vanilla fail. You can wear it – and might feel afraid. Or wait for a new golden autumn. But if you are lucky, even in winter, in its final chapter, Philtre will show root iris, lipstick and blush.

И один из подходящих, на мой взгляд, – гурманский Oh Là Là by Teo Cabanel. Плотный, тягучий, ореховый и сладкий, сандаловый, стабильный в раскрытии и заземляющий парфюм. Именно что противоположность к упасть и отжаться, побежать и подпрыгнуть, догнать – и перегнать.

Абстрактный шоколад, кофе и даже ложка сгущенки – вот такие земные радости предлагает компания в сочетании с древесным и никотиновым “дымом”, – и все это под нежно-розовым росчерком символов с неопределенным смыслом (чтобы понять что-то свое).

И хоть на рекламных фотографиях бренда бутылочка – в руках молодых и беззаботных, думается мне, что аромат подойдет и людям очень взрослым: тем, кому хотелось бы остановить безумие времени, а если и не хотелось сознательно, то вовлечься все же пришлось.

Our own thing

It’s cold and raining outside, and you’re tired to the point of exhaustion… Looks like it’s time to sit and think about life. I wish no one would touch me at the moment. Olfactory recipes for such a case may be different. And one that fits, in my opinion, is the gourmet Oh Là Là by Teo Cabanel. Thick, viscous, nutty and sweet, sandalwood, stable and grounding perfume. Exactly what is the opposite of falling and pushing, running and jumping, to catch up – and overtake.

Abstract chocolate, coffee and even a spoonful of condensed milk – these are the earthly joys the company offers in combination with woody and nicotine “smoke” – and all this lies under a soft pink stroke of symbols with an indefinite meaning (to understand something of your own).

And although in the advertising photos of the brand you see the bottle in the hands of the young and carefree, I think that the fragrance will also be suitable for adult people as well: those who would like to stop the madness of our time, and if they didn’t want consciously get involved in it yet.

Компания Houbigant к столетию парфюма Mon Boudoir выпустила его воссозданную Лукой Маффеи версию. Темный, согревающий и бархатный интерьер, который стоит увидеть хотя бы раз. И не потому, что он открывает какой-то важный исторический и культурный секрет.

Мне кажется, парфюмер не ставил задачу даже притвориться, что мы выбираем аромат из 1919 года. Нет, парфюм современен, актуален и не нуждается в каком-то приручении. Если вы любите амбровые “зимние” ароматы – Mon Boudoir войдет в гардероб самым естественным образом. Бергамот и перец в раскрытии, и мягкий абстрактный пряник в окружении герани – это даже не хорошо забытое старое. Это то, к чему мы привыкли, но красивее, – как iPhone с алюминиевыми рамками и новым оригинальным цветом корпуса. Роза, жасмин и иланг в парфюме играют сугубо декоративную роль – но это очень приятный слой, который ждешь и отслеживаешь. А главная партия, безусловно, у компонентов нижнего регистра. Mon Boudoir поочередно показывает бензоин, опопанакс, мирру и ветивер, время от времени закручивая их в танце.

Основной цвет будуара, вопреки постеру, скорее, глубокий фиолетовый. А вспомогательные цвета – теплый белый и желтый – обеспечивает освещение. В Mon Boudoir есть камин и бра. И теплый ворсистый коврик. Чудится тут и крыло хищной птицы, – как антипод общей атмосферы расслабления и удовольствия. Будем думать, что видим мы его с экрана смартфона или ноутбука.

That light

The company Houbigant for the centenary of perfume Mon Boudoir released its recreated version done by Luca Maffei. A dark, warming and velvet interior that is worth seeing at least once. And not just because it reveals some important historical and cultural secret.

It seemed to me that the perfumer did not set himself the task of even pretending that we were choosing a fragrance from 1919. No, the perfume is modern, relevant and does not need any special taming. If you like amber “winter” scents – Mon Boudoir will complement your wardrobe in the most natural way. Bergamot and pepper in the opening, and a soft abstract gingerbread surrounded by geranium later – no such thing as new. It’s what we’re used to now, but more beautiful – like iPhone with aluminum frames and in the new original color. Rose, jasmine and ylang in the perfume play a purely decorative role – but this is a very nice layer, which you wait and track. And the main party, of course, lead the components of the lower register. Mon Boudoir alternately shows benzoin, opopanax, myrrh and vetiver, occasionally spinning them in a dance.

The main color of the boudoir, contrary to the poster, is deep purple. Support colors – warm white and yellow – are provided by lighting. MonBoudoir includes a fireplace and sconce. And a warm fleecy rug. You can also see a bird of prey’ wing here, as an antipode to the general atmosphere of relaxation and contentment. Let’s think that we see it from the screen of a smartphone or laptop.

С Mon Paris Secret от Jean-Michel Duriez лучше знакомиться с приходом холодов, так как по сути это красивая ольфакторная шубка. Мягкая, уютная и согревающая.

Открывается парфюм почти шалимарным бергамотом, нарядными специями и деликатным манго – и потихоньку погружает в атмосферу полумрака и расслабления. Представляются огромные черные деревья, фонари с зеленым и теплым белым светом, тротуар в исторической части города. Рядом – ресторанчики с завлекающими ароматами кофе и модной выпечки. Прогулка обещает быть приятной.

Когда в игру вступят смолы и бальзамы, в голову могут прийти фривольные мысли. К примеру, о большой кровати с балдахином и шкуре зверя. Mon Paris Secret предлагает медитацию на тему текстуры. Drops of warmth

It is better to meet Mon Paris Secret by Jean-Michel Duriez with the onset of winter, as in fact it is a beautiful olfactory coat. Soft, cozy and warming.

The perfume opens with almost Shalimar’ bergamot, elegant spices and delicate mangoes – and slowly immerses in an atmosphere of twilight and relaxation. Huge black trees, lanterns with green and warm white light, a sidewalk in the historical part of the city. Close to you there are restaurants with enticing aromas of coffee and fashionable pastries. The walk promises to be enjoyable.

When resins and balms join the game, you’d have frivolous thoughts. Say, about canopy bed and animal hides. Mon Paris Secret offers texture meditation. Do not forget about latte, coffee with cinnamon or coriander and desserts with candied fruits. The thick, viscous, refined elixir does not end even in the dead of night. And the best part is that you can try this adult life even if you couldn’t ripen for a strong friendship with old Shalimar Guerlain.

Just Me Montana – ольфакторная зарисовка отдыха в небольшом кафе после работы: легкий алкогольный напиток, клубника, кусочки ананаса. Чуть позже кофе и долька шоколада. Неторопливая беседа, джаз. Ни запах мостовой, ни облако гвоздики не способны вывести из равновесия кого-либо. Кажется, что в парфюме найден баланс между плотностью и толерантностью к ней. Кожа здесь есть, но ее совсем немного, и в принципе, она ничем не гарантирована. Хотите – берите, а если нет – привет!

Некоторое время я пыталась понять, как извлечь эту кожу и даже животных, которые промелькнули таки одним счастливым вечером. В этом смысле Just Me, увы, не приручаем, – поэтому как кожаный парфюм его рассматривать не стоит. И более четкий образ пришел ко мне во время выхода из леса в один из рабочих кварталов, где вылизанный частный сектор соседствует с общежитиями, автосервисом и травмайной колеей. Так вот оно – то, что показывает Монтана: в большом городе нам никуда не деться от резины, рельсов и выхлопа машин.

Evening block

Just Me by Montana is an olfactory sketch of a rest in a small cafe after work: a light alcoholic drink, strawberries, pineapple slices. A little later, coffee and a piece of chocolate, leisurely conversation and jazz. Neither the smell of the pavement, nor the cloud of carnation can discompose anybody. It seems that in the perfume there is a balance between density and tolerance. The leather is here, but it is quite a bit, and you might never find it.

I tried to figure out how to get this leather and even animals, that flashed before my eyes one happy evening. In this sense, Just Me, alas, is not tameable – therefore, it probably shouldn’t be viewed as a leather perfume. And a clearer image came to me during the exit from the forest to one of the working districts, where private sector adjoins dormitories, a car-care center and a tramway line. So here it is – what Montana shows: in a big city we cannot escape rubber, rails and car exhaust.

К созданию модного, комфортного, древесного и гурманского парфюма в Nasomatto подошли творчески. Чем воспроизводить дерзкий аромат масла удового дерева и украшать его розами, клубникой или чем-то экзотическим, с Baraonda марка дарит парфлюбителям симпатичный и понятный образ дубовой бочки с коньяком. Тут нам и дерево, и алкоголь, и предвкушение приближающегося праздника.

Сливовые и шоколадные нюансы напомнят о любимых конфетах “чернослив в шоколаде” и утонут в мускусном, мшистом и табачном облаке. В хорошем смысле слова простые и понятные духи предполагают у любителей только одну вещь – чувство юмора.

Alessandro Gualtieri created fashionable, comfortable, wood and gourmet fragrance with creative approach. Instead of reproducing a bold scent of agarwood oil and decorating it with flowers, strawberries or something exotic, Nasomatto gives us with Baraonda cute and friendly image of the oak barrel brandy. Here we can find the wood, and alcohol, and the anticipation of the upcoming holiday.

Plum and chocolate nuances remind you favorite sweets “Prune in chocolate” and drown in musk, tobacco and mossy cloud. This in a good way simple and clear perfume requires only one thing – the sense of humor.
