Так, чтобы классический сахарно-пачульный вайб Ангела Mugler воспринимался современно.

Накрыв полянку и добавив консервацию (черешневый компот, черничный джем), нам сервируют и десертный напиток (амаретто). В компании учли вкус дам всех возрастов. Вместе с красивой розой с алыми и рыжыми лепестками опять же предлагают леденец. Конфету и помаду. И пирог с вишнями из бутикового Oud Nude (2022). И было бы немного слишком, если бы не сенные оттенки бобов тонка, лакричный нюанс изначальной версии и оррисовая пудра (паста?). По итогу, новая версия маленького черного платья закрывает сразу несколько популярных запросов: на орешки, на ирисы и на яркие сочные ягоды.

And you smell like candy

La Petite Robe Noire Parfum (2025) by Guerlain was released in December, focusing on the tasty part of the scent. Judge for yourself: in addition to the sweet and healing berries (raspberry, red currant, blackberry and cherry), the composition is enhanced with chocolate cream. And not just any chocolate, but with hazelnuts. This gives the classic sugary-patchouli vibe of Angel Mugler a modern feel.

After setting the table and adding preserves (cherry compote, blueberry jam), we are served a dessert drink (amaretto). The company took into account the tastes of ladies of all ages. Along with a beautiful rose with scarlet petals, they offer a lollipop. Candy and lipstick. And a cherry pie from the boutique perfume Oud Nude (2022). It would be a bit over the top if not for the hay-like undertones of tonka bean, the licorice nuance of the original version, and the orris powder (paste?). Ultimately, the new version of the little black dress hits several popular notes at once: nuts, irises, and bright, juicy berries.

Познакомившись с изданным в прошлом году L’Homme Idéal Parfum by Guerlain, я почувствовала, что надо бы обновить впечатления и о парфюме другого бренда – Pink Boa (2022) by Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777. И именно в переключении от одного к другому становилось ясно, насколько оба этих аромата кокетливы. Pink Boa, конечно же, больше, – в нем есть раскованность и следование модным и спорным трендам (взять хотя бы запах лосося, к которому в духах, как мне кажется, готовы подступиться далеко не все). Pink Boa предлагает много оттенков розового, и при этом адресован все же взрослой аудитории обоих полов. Несмотря на актуальную ягодность (малина, затем – клюква), парфюм одновременно притягательный и страшный. Ни красивый абстрактный цветок в средних “нотах”, ни вкусный абрикосовый компот в базе не отменят его скрытого драконьего характера. Здесь – сочетание змеиной, плюс, какой-то даже птичьей – и привычной галантерейной кожи.

L’Homme Idéal Parfum скрывает ту же кожу. Не факт, что все три ее составляющие, либо же, взятые в той же пропорции. Но в целом, тут для меня – их общее место. А также, – в ягодном декоре. Герлен, правда, добавили хорошо проработанные брендом вишни и черешни. В-третьих, их роднит алкоголь. Ликер (а в Pink Boa – водка) и некая симпатичная прозрачность от бокала или рюмки, что балансирует в целом и сладкую ягодность, и ощутимые вкусные специи (здесь – кардамон).

Смело могу рекомендовать знакомство с ними обоими (хоть параллельно, а хоть и вне связи друг с другом), если вы готовы пуститься во все тяжкие хорошо отрежиссированного фильма.

P.S. Кроме отодвинутого на второй план, но все же ощутимого печенья из вышедшего в тот же период Habit Rouge Parfum в L’Homme Idéal Parfum есть еще интересная пропитка белым кремом. Этот крем вместе с вишневым кардамоном сопровождают раскрытие галантерейной кожи. И позже появится аромат сухого дерева. Настолько сухого, что правильнее, наверное, будет сказать, пенька.

Non-obvious connections

When I got acquainted with L’Homme Idéal Parfum by Guerlain released last year, I felt that I should compare it to another brand’s perfume – Pink Boa (2022) by Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777. In switching from one to the other it became clear how flirtatious both of these fragrances are. Pink Boa, of course, is more unique: it has a lot of relaxedness and follows fashionable and controversial trends (take at least the smell of salmon, to which, in my view, not all are ready in perfumes). It offers many shades of pink, and yet is addressed to an adult audience of both sexes. Despite the actual berry (raspberry, then cranberry), the perfume is simultaneously attractive and scary. Neither the beautiful abstract flower in the middle “notes” nor the delicious apricot compote in the base will cancel out its hidden dragon character. Here is a combination of snake, plus some even bird – and the usual haberdashery leather.

L’Homme Idéal Parfum hides the same “skin”. It is not a fact that all three of its components, or taken in the same proportion. But overall, for me, here is their common place. As well, I can see the intersections in the berry decor. Guerlain, however, added cherries and sweet cherries, well-developed by the brand. And thirdly, they are related by alcohol. Liqueur (and in Pink Boa – vodka) and some nice transparency from a glass or shot glass, which generally balances both the sweet berry and noticeable tasty spices (in this one – cardamom).

I can recommend meeting them both (in parallel, and even independently of each other), if you are ready to walk on the wild side.

P.S. In addition to the hidden but still noticeable biscuit note from Habit Rouge Parfum, released in the same period, there is also an interesting soaking with white cream in L’Homme Idéal Parfum. This cream, together with cherry cardamom, accompany the unfolding of haberdashery leather. And later, the scent of dry wood will appear. So dry that it would probably be more correct to say stump.

Or des Indes (1988) by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier и Habit Rouge Parfum (2024) by Guerlain. Несмотря на красный цвет картонок образцов, ароматы по ощущению не красные. А похожи они только тем, что оба – про странствия: в одном – рассказ о разбойниках и подготовке к путешествиям (запасаются печеньем, табаком и ромом), а в другом – о пребывании на дальнем острове и раскуривании ладана. Habit Rouge Parfum раскрывает современный вариант кожи, дегтя, дыма, специй и красивой не кондитерской ванили, и аромат печенья позже начинает здорово работать на плоскость “дальней земли”, горячего песка, над которым клубится пар, – примерно как в Oud Extrait (2018) by MFK, о котором писала ранее. Амбра же принимает участие в образах давно не принимавших душ странников и их видавших виды одежд. Тогда как Or des Indes показывает красивый закат, великолепные пейзажы в мягком свете и совершенно беспардонный, черноночной жасмин. Ладан в нем – и тот цветочный.

Оба парфюма, из 1988 и 2024 – актуальны и увлекательны.

In the islands

Or des Indes (1988) by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier and Habit Rouge Parfum (2024) by Guerlain. Despite the red color of the sample boxes, the fragrances have not been felt red. However, there is a common component in their compositions, and this is geranium. Surprisingly, but unconsciously, having turned to a fairly large and varied assortment of warming gourmands, I somehow chose these beauties one after another. And they are similar only in that both are about journeys: one is a story about robbers and preparation for travel (stocking up on cookies, tobacco and rum), another is about being on a distant island and burning incense. Habit Rouge Parfum reveals a modern version of leather, tar, smoke, spices and beautiful non-confectionery vanilla, and later the scent of cookies begins to create an image of the “distant land” and hot sand, over which steam is blowing – much like in Oud Extrait de Parfum (2018) by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, which I wrote about earlier. Ambergris takes part in the images of travelers who have not showered for a long time and their shabby clothes. While Or des Indes shows a beautiful sunset, magnificent landscapes in soft light and completely shameless, black-night jasmine. Incense in it is also floral friendly.

Both perfumes, from 1988 and 2024, are relevant and exciting.

Плотный, круглый, поначалу кажущийся неподвижным, а потому и не особенно носибельным Oud Extrait de Parfum (2018) by Maison Francis Kurkdjian и воздушный изначальный в концентрации edp Oud (2012). Оба – с крошками печенья, напоминающими о горячем песке (в экстракте, как мне кажется, гурманский акцент уступает пейзажу), и дурманящей (опять же, в насыщенной концентрации это ощутимее) ванилью, хорошо сбалансированной элеми. Тепло, жарко и даже обжигающе. Будто распаленный костер без дыма. Экстракт по посадке и общим ощущениям намекает на восточные аттары, изначальная edp – западная история про восточную сказку. Экстракт начинает свое движение со стекающей по срубу дерева смолы, парфюмированная вода – с бело-голубого воздуха. Насколько более соленый и специевый, а также мускусный по сравнению со своим братом в edp кедр в экстракте, я устала наблюдать, так как для обеих версий все же нужны силы. Кто страдает от того, что красота аромата убегает с кожи, здесь, должно быть, получит облегчение.

Где попробовать: aromateque

Warm, hot and even scorching: Oud by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, extrait and edp

Dense, round, at first seemingly motionless, and therefore not particularly wearable, Oud Extrait de Parfum (2018) by Maison Francis Kurkdjian and the airy original, in eau de parfum concentration, Oud (2012). Both with crumbs of biscuits, reminiscent of hot sand (in extract, it seems to me, the gourmet accent gives way to the landscape), and intoxicating (again, in a rich concentration this is more noticeable) vanilla, well balanced by elemi. Warm, hot and even scorching. Like a fire without smoke. The extract hints at the eastern attars, the original edp is still a western story about an oriental fairy tale. The extract starts its movement with resin flowing down a shrub of a tree, the eau de parfum gives us a white-blue air. How much saltier and spicy (and also more musky) compared to its brother in edp cedar in extract, I am a little tired of watching, since both versions require above all the mental strength. Who suffers from the fact that the beauty of the scent runs away quickly, here, apparently, will get relief.

Вот этот образ исполнителя Мануса Бабы (интересно, я верно склоняю?), его приблатненный сексапил – ну где-то такую же андрогинность ощущаю и на коже своей, нанеся Thyina. Аромат кругленький, плавный (как и голос певца), самую малость гурманский и местами животный. Очень бодрящий. Кому парфюмерный кофе – тем к Манусу, и ощущаться напиток будет целый день, время от времени проглядывая сквозь светлую (молочную?) пену. Есть здесь и специи, и березовый деготь. Трендовые орешки. Но общая картина совсем не кафэшная. Мы именно что куда-то довольно долго едем по проселочной дороге, – радуясь тому, что есть бензин.

With coffee and gasoline

A friend from Istanbul said that the images in this video make no sense. But it’s not like that for me For some reason, the clip illustrates the fragrance of the new collection of Neela Vermeire Fragments – Thyina, in color and even its stylistic solution. Although lavender does not give such blueness to the sky for sure.

Here is this image of the performer Manuş Baba, his cheeky sex appeal – well, about the same androgyny I feel on my skin, applying Thyina. The scent is round, smooth (like the singer’s voice), just a little gourmand and animalistic. It’s very invigorating. Who needs perfume coffee – let them touch it, and the drink will last all day, from time to time looking through the light crema. There are also spices and birch tar here and trendy nuts. But the overall picture is not a cafe. It’s just that we’re somewhere on a country road, rejoicing that we have enough gasoline.

Iris Shot для Olfactive Studio – работа Доминика Ропийона во всех смыслах крепкая. Что видно на фото-брифе – то и чувствуется в аромате: король – цветочек ирис на фоне темноты цвета хаки с четко очерченным гордым и красивым стеблем. Основательно и неторопливо парфюм раскрывает подробности его структуры, сухо и пряно, подслащено и припудрено. И все это великолепие неизбежно обрастает корнями и сливается с почвой, плотной и жадной на какие-либо эмоции. Нет-нет, и приходит мысль о том, что душа хотела бы в рай – да грехи не пускают. Ольфакторный покер фейс для не совсем понятных (особых?) случаев.

В Украине парфюма нет, – такое ощущение, что и не связано это с текущей ситуацией, – но понять бренд-менеджера или “байера” компании-поставщика можно: аромат не так старомоден, как – на любителя и даже, пожалуй, “вещь в себе”. Никто ведь не мог запланировать, что большая часть людей проведет это время дома, получая сообщения о воздушной тревоге, когда стабильные, понятные конструкции актуальны и желательны. В базе Iris Shot, кстати, есть и немного алкоголя для успокоения. Друзья, кому доступны европейские магазины – парфюм издан и в приятном для знакомства формате 15 мл.

In the field of darkness

Iris Shot by Olfactive Studio, the work of Dominique Ropion, is in every way strong. What is seen in the photo brief is what is felt in the fragrance: the king iris flower against a dark khaki background with a clearly defined, proud and beautiful stem. Thoroughly and slowly, the perfume reveals the details of its structure, dry and spicy, powdered and sweetened. And all this splendor inevitably grows roots and merges with the soil, dense and greedy for any emotions. And the thought comes to mind that the soul would like to fly, but it’s beyond our power. Olfactory poker face – for a special occasion.

This perfume is not for sale in Ukraine – and it seems that this is not related to the current situation – but you can understand the brand manager or “buyer” of the supplier company: the fragrance is not so old-fashioned, as, apparently, specific and even “thing in itself”. No one could have planned that most people would spend this time at home receiving air raid alerts when stable, understandable designs are relevant and desirable. In the base of Iris Shot, by the way, there is also a little alcohol to calm down. Friends who have access to European stores – the perfume was also issued in 15 ml format that is pleasant for exploring.

Последний аромат от Jean-Michel Duriez W/oud rose может показаться чуть более объемным, чем вмещает обычная городская квартира, но будет наверняка хорош в каких-то иных обстоятельствах. Я бы сказала, парфюм создан для вечеринок и дискотек на юге, мест, куда мы ходим за новыми и яркими эмоциями.

Сам аромат составлен из простых, но всеми любимых вещей: розы и груши, розы и малина, розы и виноградная пастила. С шафрановой пылью, на деревянных островках, с душевными вкраплениями ириса. Сама роза здесь нежная, слегка фруктовая и гурманская, и те, кто любил и носил Enjoy by Jean Patou, могут присмотреться, не заменит ли (или дополнит) W/oud rose его в каком-то смысле. Для меня эти парфюмы роднит не только авторство Жан-Мишеля Дюрье и красавица-роза, но и общее “отпускное” впечатление, хотя новинка Дюрье гораздо более мультигендерная. Древесина, на которой появляются цветы и фрукты, всё-таки специевая, ладанная и собранная с намеком на удовое дерево. Есть тут какой-то отсыл к пиратской, разбойничьей теме, а также к темному времени суток и замшевым деталям. Ну и ощутимый металлический аккорд шафрана и мускуса делает W/oud rose мощным ольфакторным оружием.

An excuse for a party

The latest fragrance from Jean-Michel Duriez W/oud rose may seem a little bigger than the usual city apartment can accommodate, but it will certainly be good in some other contexts. I would say that the perfume was created for parties and discos in the south, places where we go for new vivid emotions.

The fragrance is made up of simple but beloved things: roses and pears, roses and raspberries, roses and grape marshmallow. With saffron dust, on wooden islands, with soulful splashes of iris. The rose itself is delicate, slightly fruity and gourmet, and those who loved and wore Enjoy by Jean Patou may take a closer look if W/oud rose will replace (or complement) it in some sense. For me, these perfumes are not only related by the authorship of Jean-Michel Duriez and the beautiful rose, but also by the general “holiday” impression, although Duriez’ novelty is much more multi-gender. The wood on which the flowers and fruits appear is still spicy, incense and collected with a hint of an oud wood. There is some reference to the pirate, bandit theme here, as well as to the dark time of the day and suede details. And furthermore, the sizeable metal accord of saffron and musk makes W/oud rose a powerful olfactory weapon.

В Украине наконец продаются духи Ani, изданные в серии No boundaries турецкого бренда Nishane, и я очень рада знакомству. Сесиль Зарокян воссоздала атмосферу знаменитого древнего города на границе Турции и Армении, и результат именно такой, как мы могли бы ожидать от нее. Красивая и запоминающаяся цветочно-ориентальная композиция, игра пряностей, дух шелкового пути из Epic, который она сделала для Amouage десять лет назад, и темные розы с черной смородиной из Fêtes Persanes by Parfums MDCI. Только благодаря концентрации extrait, плотность Ani воспринимается изящнее.

Новинка Nishane будто бы слагает былину о славных событиях прошлого. Косы из амброво-пачулистой, цветочно-пудровой, абстрактно-фруктовой и специевой частей укладывают вокруг нашей головы – и предлагают следить за ходом истории. А она долгая-долгая. Вначале мятежная, к концу – тихая и умиротворяющая. С Ani так и гуляешь по песчаным дорогам старого города, представляя себе женщину, которая там жила, любила, растила сады и детей. И эти едва ощутимые яблоки и курага, а также молоко с ванилью и розовыми лепестками, и даже будто бы манная каша – кажутся незаурядными и прекрасными.

Do we vote for peace?

The perfume Ani, released last year in the No boundaries series of the Turkish brand Nishane, is finally presented in Ukrainе and I am very glad to understand it better. Cécile Zarokian recreated the atmosphere of the famous ancient city on the border of Turkey and Armenia, and the result is exactly the same as we might expect from her. A beautiful and memorable floral-oriental composition, a dance of spices, the spirit of the silk road from Epic, which she made for Amouage ten years ago, and dark roses with black currants from Fêtes Persanes by Parfums MDCI. At the same time, thanks to the concentration of extrait, the density of Ani is taken more elegantly.

Nishane’ novelty seems to compose the epic story about the glorious events of the past. Braids from ambergris-patchouli, floral-powdery, abstract-fruity and spice parts are laid around our heads – and offer to follow the course of history. And this story is long, rebellious in the beginning, and quiet and peaceful towards the end. With Ani, you walk along the sandy roads of the old city, imagining a woman who lived there, loved, raised gardens and children. And these barely visible apples and dried apricots, as well as milk with vanilla and rose petals, and even if semolina pudding was here, look infinitely beautiful as life itself.

С Mon Paris Secret от Jean-Michel Duriez лучше знакомиться с приходом холодов, так как по сути это красивая ольфакторная шубка. Мягкая, уютная и согревающая.

Открывается парфюм почти шалимарным бергамотом, нарядными специями и деликатным манго – и потихоньку погружает в атмосферу полумрака и расслабления. Представляются огромные черные деревья, фонари с зеленым и теплым белым светом, тротуар в исторической части города. Рядом – ресторанчики с завлекающими ароматами кофе и модной выпечки. Прогулка обещает быть приятной.

Когда в игру вступят смолы и бальзамы, в голову могут прийти фривольные мысли. К примеру, о большой кровати с балдахином и шкуре зверя. Mon Paris Secret предлагает медитацию на тему текстуры. Не забывая о латте, кофе с корицей или кориандром и десертах с цукатами. Густой, тягучий, изысканный эликсир не заканчивается даже к глубокой ночи. И самое приятное – эту взрослую жизнь можно пробовать даже тем, кто так и не смог дозреть до крепкой дружбы со старым Shalimar Guerlain.

Drops of warmth

It is better to meet Mon Paris Secret by Jean-Michel Duriez with the onset of winter, as in fact it is a beautiful olfactory coat. Soft, cozy and warming.

The perfume opens with almost Shalimar’ bergamot, elegant spices and delicate mangoes – and slowly immerses in an atmosphere of twilight and relaxation. Huge black trees, lanterns with green and warm white light, a sidewalk in the historical part of the city. Close to you there are restaurants with enticing aromas of coffee and fashionable pastries. The walk promises to be enjoyable.

When resins and balms join the game, you’d have frivolous thoughts. Say, about canopy bed and animal hides. Mon Paris Secret offers texture meditation. Do not forget about latte, coffee with cinnamon or coriander and desserts with candied fruits. The thick, viscous, refined elixir does not end even in the dead of night. And the best part is that you can try this adult life even if you couldn’t ripen for a strong friendship with old Shalimar Guerlain.

Stairway to Heaven открывается альдегидно-фруктовым аккордом, который действительно отправляет сразу к небесам, заснеженным вершинам и розовым облакам. Эта приподнятость сохранится на всех этапах пути, хотя парфюм довольно плотный. Он и сам как пушистое облако.

Парфюмер Сесиль Зарокян построила Stairway to Heaven на контрасте альдегидов и воздушных мускусов с более приземленной абстрактной гурманской частью. Тут можно представить желание путешественников перекусить теплыми лепешками или рисовой кашей. Есть в композиции и розная лента, как отдых и разделительный элемент.

Если вы помните, как сделана этим же парфюмером база в изданном в 2014 году Aqua Sextius, здесь воспроизведена та же техника. Парфюм не опускается вниз, а пружинит, от нижнего регистра к центральной части. В Stairway to Heaven это, возможно, еще более удачно, – мне показались очень симпатичными “отталкивания” от ванили, хотя, если следить за финалом внимательно, появятся и ладан с абстрактным деревом. Светлая и лишенная тяжести основа может даже напомнить какие-то светящиеся звездочки.

Не уверена, что этот красивый ольфакторный пейзаж будет органично смотреться на настоящих бородатых альпинистах, но девушкам, желающим совместить мягкость, комфорт и современную стилистику, можно смело пробовать подружиться с ним.

The owners of the brand Jul et Mad took a chance – and pulled us into the mountains. High Himalayas in Nepal, Annapurna. They invited us to share the joy of climbing and happiness to breathe that special air and see the beauty for many kilometers around.

Their latest perfume Stairway to Heaven opens with an aldehyde-fruity chord that really sends straight to heaven, snow-capped peaks and pink clouds. This elation will continue at all stages of the journey, despite the fact that the scent is quite dense. It is like a fluffy cloud.

Perfumer Cécile Zarokian built Stairway to Heaven on the contrast of aldehydes and airy musks with a more down to earth abstract gourmet part. Here we can imagine the desire of travelers to eat warm pita bread or rice porridge. There is also a rose ribbon in the composition, as a rest and a dividing element.

It seems to me, Cécile Zarokian reproduced here the same technique in the base notes concept as in her work Aqua Sextius, made for Jul et Mad five years ago. Perfume does not go down, but bounces off the lower register to the central part. In Stairway to Heaven, it is probably perceived even better – this jumping from vanilla is really nice, although if you follow the finale carefully, an incense and an abstract wood will be found also. A light and weightless base can even resemble some luminous little stars.

I’m not so sure, this beautiful olfactory landscape will look good on real bearded climbers, but girls who want to combine softness, comfort and modern style, can safely try to befriend it.
