Чтобы хоть как-то объяснить, насколько странное впечатление может производить парфюм Clive Christian V for Women, я попрошу вас вспомнить сцену из фильма Томаса Винтерберга «Торжество». Шикарный загородный особняк, торжественный прием в честь шестидесятилетия хозяина дома. Старший сын Кристиан, произнося тост за здоровье юбиляра, упоминает о том, как в детстве отец неоднократно подвергал его и сестру сексуальному насилию…Подобные чувства смятения и страха в V вызывает, по-видимому, атака ладана и амбретты, когда вы только-только собрались понежиться в роскоши роз, жасмина и иланг-иланга, подогретые апельсиновым цветом и раззадоренные ромашкой.

Clive Christian V for Women призван быть роскошным парфюмом. Тешить самолюбие хозяйки хрустальным флаконом с королевской тиарой, создавать праздничное настроение и удивлять качеством и количеством ингредиентов. Однако работая над последним показателем, в Clive Christian все-таки перестарались. С V можно так грандиозно поужинать – чтобы не просто к следующему утру, а еще очень и очень долго не хотеть есть снова.

Почитатели парфюмерной классики, несмотря на внушительные запасы, сделанные на аукционах, скорбят о ее уходе. И конечно, не могут не смотреть в сторону брендов, позиционирующих себя как продолжателей давних традиций индустрии. Среди этих традиций можно выделить пирамидальное раскрытие аромата, использование качественного сырья и насыщенных концентраций, а также представление алчущим взорам коллекционеров презентабельных и запоминающихся флаконов. Создатели парфюма Clive Christian V for Women попробовали продемонстрировать именно такой подход. Но классический парфюм у них, увы, не получился.

To somehow explain how strange the impression produced by the perfume Clive Christian V for Women can be, I ask you to recall the scene from the film “The Celebration” directed by Thomas Vinterberg. Respected family patriarch and businessman Helge is celebrating his 60th birthday amongst many relatives, friends and business partners. During dinner, the eldest son Christian publicly accuses his father of sexually abusing both him and his twin sister (who had recently committed suicide)… Similar feelings of confusion and fear in the V perfume are, apparently, caused by the attack of incense and ambrette seed – at the very moment you are about to soak up the luxury of roses, jasmine and ylang-ylang, warmed up by orange blossom and stimulated by chamomile.

Clive Christian V for Women is designed to be a luxury perfume. It should heighten your self-esteem with the crystal bottle with royal tiara lid. It should create a festive mood and surprise with the quality and quantity of ingredients. However, working on the latter indicator, Clive Christian company has overdone. You can have such a grand dinner with V – that not just till the next morning, but a very long time afterwards you wouldn’t get hungry again.

Perfume classics admirers, despite the impressive reserves made at auctions, feel sadness for its loss. And of course, they can’t fail to look towards brands, that claim to be the followers of the long tradition of the industry. To these traditions belong a pyramid structure disclosure, high quality raw materials and saturated concentrations, as well as presentable and memorable bottles introduced to the hungry collector’s eyes. The creators of V for Women tried to demonstrate this approach. But alas they couldn’t create a classical perfume.
