В день знакомства с новинкой Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Forte Oud Yuzu мне показалось, что расположилась она где-то между созданными в 2013 году Barkhane by Teo Cabanel и Cuir Garamante от MDCI Parfums, а также более поздними Mon Seul Désir (2017) by Jul et Mad и даже Tabac Noir (2019) от Caron. Теплое, пряное, маслянистое дерево с ветивером и коноплей внизу – и цитрусовой верхушкой. Ключевое различие между ними, на мой взгляд, в том, какой змей-дракон выпускает яд в процессе раскрытия сюжета.

В Aqua Allegoria Forte Oud Yuzu дракон мультяшный современный – и любитель японских ресторанов. Начиная с аромата гибрида мандарина и лимона, распространённого в Юго-Восточной Азии юзу, – и заканчивая хулиганскими добавками к композиции запахов риса и рыбы. Вот такую зарисовку, как мне кажется, хотели передать в Герлен: трапезу в ресторанчике у моря с красивыми покрытиями дерева. Да, со странными, но такими актуальными сейчас минеральными тонами. Возможно, с маленькими каменными статуями драконов там и тут. Не совсем то, что любители классических герленовских духов ожидают от компании, но в стилистике двух других новых осенних ароматов серии.

The day I met the new Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Forte Oud Yuzu, it seemed to me that it settled somewhere between created in 2013 Barkhane by Teo Cabanel and Cuir Garamante by MDCI Parfums, as well as more recent Mon Seul Désir (2017) by Jul et Mad and even Tabac Noir (2019) by Caron. Warm, spicy, oily wood with vetiver and cannabis at the bottom – and a citrusy top. The key difference, in my opinion, is which serpent-dragon releases the venom as the plot unfolds.

In Aqua Allegoria Forte Oud Yuzu, the dragon is cartoonishly modern — and a lover of Japanese restaurants. Starting with the scent of mandarin-lemon hybrid, common in Southeast Asia, yuzu, and finishing with hooligan additives to the composition of the smells of rice and fish. This is the kind of sketch, I think, they wanted to convey: a meal at a seaside restaurant with beautiful wood surfaces. Yes, with the strange, but now so relevant mineral tones. Perhaps with little stone dragon statues here and there. Not exactly what fans of classic Guerlain perfumes expect from the company, but in the style of the other two new autumn fragrances in the series.
