В своей книге “The diary of a nose” Жан-Клод Эллена напоминает: “…all the work of expression takes place in the reader’s mind; from that he derives his pleasure and the satisfaction, gratification and joy it gives him”. Таким образом, за удовольствием и удовлетворением, если вдруг мы не нашли их непосредственно в парфюме, вероятно, стоит обратиться к воображению.

Наверняка многие ждали выхода нового аромата в серии hermessence. У Muguet Porcelain очень симпатичный концепт – игрушечный ландыш, чистый и прекрасный. Как же, должно быть, удивляются поклонники творчества знаменитого парфюмера, обнаружив в новинке слегка странный способ воплощения идеи. Вернее, способ этот даже не странный, – это было бы еще ничего, – а попросту, заурядный. Вначале ландыш звенит симпатичными капельками росы, а затем – хорошо знакомыми мускусами. Эти химические материалы изображают фарфор? Действительно смешно.

Muguet Porcelain, если бы в Hermes сделали концентрацию духи, мог бы повторить один удачный фокус из аромата Ришара Фресса Tubereuse by Caron (там тоже нежные, на первый взгляд, цветочки, приближаясь, становились монстрами). Но второй раз, как мы помним из курса философии, история повторяется только в виде фарса. И действительно, ландыш из hermessence может расползаться на коже во фруктовые и даже овощные стороны.

All kidding aside

In this way, if we did not find pleasure and satisfaction right into the perfume, probably we should refer to the imagination.

Surely many people waited for the new fragrance in the Hermessence series. Muguet Porcelain has very nice concept – toy lily of the valley, clean and beautiful. How it must have surprised admirers of the famous perfumer, discovering a slightly strange way to implement the idea. Actually, this method is not even strange – this shouldn’t be a big deal. This is just ordinary. At first lily of the valley rings with cute dew drops, and then – with the help of familiar musk. Do these chemical materials pretend to be the porcelain? Really funny.

If Hermes did parfum concentration, Muguet Porcelain could repeat the successful focus of Richard Fraysse in his Tubereuse by Caron (there are also gentle flowers, which turn into monsters once you come closer). But the second time, as we know from the course of philosophy, history repeats itself only as farce. Indeed, in Hermessence lily of the valley might unravel on the skin to the fruit and even vegetable sides.
