Парфюм Chaldée, воссозданный парфюмером Тома Фонтейном для Héritage Collection Jean Patou, напоминает о двух прекрасных классических цветочных ароматах: Amouage Gold for Man в концентрации eau de parfum и современном Nocturnes de Caron. Chaldée такой же торжественный и нарядный. Только вместо брызг золота или шампанского здесь разливаются апельсиновый цвет и розы.

Еще эти три аромата роднит присутствие альдегидов, розового масла и пышного, местами воинствующего жасмина. Изюминка Chaldée в очень реалистично проявленном нарциссе. Этот цветок не даст вам ни есть ни спать. Если бы не веточка искусственной сирени, Chaldée мог бы показаться эталонным выражением цветочных запахов. Но нет, местами он замыливается и замасливается.

Перевыпуск классики всегда вызывает у меня смешанные чувства. С одной стороны, страшно интересно попробовать и очень радостно за тех, кто любил это в юности и сможет купить желанный флакон снова, а с другой – досадно, если современные материалы воспроизвести прежнюю магию композиции не позволяют. К счастью, я не пробовала Chaldée в винтажном варианте, так что версия Héritage Collection оставила хорошее впечатление.

Good as gold

Perfume Chaldée, recreated by perfumer Thomas Fontaine, for Héritage Collection Jean Patou, reminds of two beautiful classic floral fragrances: Amouage Gold for Man in eau de parfum concentration and modern Nocturnes de Caron. Chaldée has the same festiveness and elegance. Only instead of splashing gold or champagne it is bottled with orange blossom and rose.

The presence of aldehydes, rose oil and lush, sometimes militant jasmine is what these three perfumes have in common. A peculiarity of Chaldée is a very realistically manifested narcissus. With this flower you can’t switch your attention to anything else. Chaldée could seem as a reference expression of floral scents if it wasn’t for an artificial lilac sprig. But no, here and there it smells like soap or oil.

Reissues of classics always give me mixed feelings. On the one hand, I’m very interested in trying it and very happy for those who loved it in their youth and now are able to buy the coveted bottle again, and on the other – it’s a shame if modern materials do not allow to reproduce the magic of the old songs. Fortunately, I have not tried Chaldée in the vintage edition, so the version of Héritage Collection has left a good impression on me.
